Class of 2025 Has One Last Adventure Together on Senior Explorations

Whether they were learning to surf, honing their culinary skills, or getting a behind-the-scenes look at the magic in Disney World, the Class of 2025 spent last week fully engaged in hands-on learning during Senior Explorations.

The Senior Explorations program gives our graduating class the chance to try something new, spend time with friends, and make the most of their final days at Rutgers Prep.

Here's a look at the many adventures they embarked on:

On Backstage Magic – Entrepreneurship at Disney, seniors experienced the Disney universe in a whole new way, taking behind-the-scenes tours and courses through the Disney Imagination Campus, focusing on leadership, hospitality, park design, marketing, and teamwork.

Chaperoned by Dr. Cooper, Mr. Laureti, and Mrs. Zanfardino

A Bewitching Adventure gave seniors a glimpse into New England’s haunted history, using the darkened alleys of Salem as their home base, visiting sites such as Judge Corwin’s infamous Witch House, Pioneer Village, and Hawthorne’s House of the Seven Gables.

Chaperoned by Dr. Morgart and Dr. Pierce.

In Cooking at Little Fox Kitchen, our seniors gave gourmet cooking a try, making gnocchi from scratch, taking on Tex-Mex, and putting together a brunch. They also competed in a Chopped challenge, creating a three-course meal using a mystery basket of surprise ingredients.

Various chaperones covered each day, including Mr. Avella, Ms. Castellano, Mrs. Riggi, Ms. Winn, Mrs. Lensborn, Mrs. Walker, Ms. Bander, and Senora Dutta.

Dessert Week had our seniors set up shop at Purple Cow Cakery and try their hand at baking and the pastry arts, creating handmade pastries, fillings, and buttercream, and learning decorating techniques for hand-piping and fondant sculpting.

Chaperoned by Ms. Angelos, Ms. Kalkus, and Mrs. Bautista-Burk.

During The New York Experience, seniors explored the city’s iconic neighborhoods; visited the Whitney, the Met, and the Spy Museum; took in a performance of "Maybe Happy Ending;" explored the city by foot from the Brooklyn Bridge to its Botanical Garden; and finished with a celebratory dinner at Eataly.

Chaperoned by Mr. Martinez, Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Stephens, and Mx. Stewart

In Sea-Air-Sea, seniors explored the Jersey Shore by taking a guided stand-up paddleboard tour of the Shark River and learned the basics of surfing at Hammer Surf School in Spring Lake. They then took flight with a day of indoor sky-diving.

Chaperoned by Mr. Kuchar and Mr. Schoudel.
