William Cramer ’52

William Cramer ’52 writes: "Hi to my Prep Friends - I recently celebrated my 90th birthday, Shortly after the passing of my wife, Jeanne, in 2018, I moved to Austin, Texas, to live with daughter Sharon, David, and their family (three) of adopted pups. I would very much appreciate hearing from the school mates of anyone from the classes surrounding 1952. Sadly, we lost my other daughter, Susan, a church organist in 2013, from ovarian cancer. Love to hear from Prepsters. wjc72536@yahoo.com"

Robert Murray ’77

Robert Murray ’77 writes: "Retiring this year after 40 years as a peripatetic geologist, 47 years post-RPS. I remember arriving at Rutgers Prep to start 7th grade in 1971 on the 3rd floor of Elm Farm and my appreciation for all that I gained in my Prep years still grows. There was English with Mr. Stanley, Spanish with Mrs. Roberts, History with Mr. Bratek, and Science and Swimming with Mr. Fenstermaker. There was the Model United Nations Club to the consternation of Mrs. Dutta. There was all I learned and the friends I made. And there might have been a bit of mischief. After Prep came Charlottesville, VA, Missoula, MT, Austin, TX, Las Vegas, NV, Olympia, WA, Las Vegas, NV, Pittsburgh, PA, New Orleans, LA, and now Whoknowswhere, Next. Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2077 at our Big 5-Oh!"

Donna Goodman ’87

Donna Goodman ’87 writes: "Rutgers Prep is part of my foundation. I will always remember the special and dedicated teachers, too many to name. Today, I will reflect on three who shaped my love of exploration. My first adventure came at age 12, traveling Spain with Señora James, one teacher and nine students in a Combi van. Later, in high school, I joined French exchange programs with Madame Mansfield and Madame Spratford.

For 20+ years, I’ve been traveling and living abroad. In 2007, I landed in Carnarvon, Western Australia, a remote coastal town 500 kilometers (310 miles) from anywhere. Driving north out of Perth, I watched trees turn to shrubs and felt the desert heat through my hand-me-down Hyundai Excel. Now, I live north of the 26th parallel, where whales migrate and summer comes in December. It’s a world apart from the Raritan River.

I teach at Carnarvon School of the Air, which provides education to isolated students. This year, with Culture and the Arts funding, I led Creating Music Magic – Station Life, a project for students on remote cattle stations. They worked with artists to write and record a song about their lives. Through songwriting and video production, they explored themes of identity, literacy, and connection. This project fostered creativity, pride, and teamwork, helping students bridge the gap between their remote lives and the broader world. Enjoy the screening!"
