Unlocking Prep: Unveiling Rutgers Prep's Plans for a Cutting-Edge, Community-Centered New Building

We are thrilled to share a preview of this transformative building coming to our School, which will ensure Rutgers Prep is prepared to embrace emerging opportunities, provoke innovative thoughts and ideas, and continue to provide an inspired educational experience. 

The new construction will accommodate all three Divisions of our student body, foster a tight-knit community, and empower innovation and creativity in state-of-the-art learning environments.

A Warm Welcome

The building will function as our new front door, with a secure main entrance to the School for all visitors and guests and a welcoming atrium foyer.

 

A Place to Gather

An adaptable presentation hall will be used every day for Morning Meeting, performances, parent events, and student experiences in all divisions.

 

A Place to Collaborate

The second floor will house collaborative learning spaces designed especially for Robotics, Architecture & Design, the Bloomberg Terminal Lab, and a Maker Space, where students can invent, build, and explore.

 

Adjacent to the Commons and the Music Building,
the new 25,000 square foot building will include:

  • Secure main entrance to the School for all visitors 
  • Entrance plaza with seating
  • Presentation Hall with seating for 425+
  • Central Courtyard with Outdoor Education Area
  • Indoor Connection to Dining and Learning Commons
  • Admission Suite 
  • The School Store
  • Gathering and conference spaces
  • Adaptive learning classrooms for collaborative academic programming

We currently anticipate construction to begin before Thanksgiving Break of 2025 and for the building to open during the 2026-2027 school year.
