RPS Students “Rise” to the Occasion on Schoolwide Service Day
The Rutgers Prep community came together last week for another successful RISE Against Hunger and Day On for Service, a schoolwide effort that had students from every division making meaningful contributions.
Together with our faculty and staff, students in Grades 3–12 packed more than 55,000 meals for RISE Against Hunger in under two hours. Middle School students got things started at 8:30 a.m. and completed more than 25 boxes of meals before Third Grade and our Upper School students joined them at the assembly lines. Fourth and Fifth Grade students helped seal the final boxes and stayed to assist with cleanup.
Our youngest students were just as involved, as they worked on service projects to benefit veterans, the Children’s Hospital, and our friends at Elijah’s Promise in Franklin.
The Lower Gym and Barn were busy and full of energy all morning, and it was the kind of day that reminds you what our community can do when everyone works together.
Special thanks go to Mrs. Santowasso for leading this event each year, and to all our faculty, staff, and students who helped make this day so impactful.
