Exploring Spanish and Latin American Culture Through Film
Course Overview:
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Spanish and Latin American cinema in this engaging and enriching summer course! Designed for students with 2-3 years of Spanish, this class combines language learning with cultural exploration through the lens of acclaimed films. Over three weeks, you will improve your listening, speaking, and writing skills as you analyze stories, themes, and characters that reflect the rich diversity of the cinema world.
Taught 80-90% in Spanish, this course challenges you to think critically, communicate effectively, and appreciate the artistry of Hispanic cinema. Grammar will be incorporated contextually to strengthen your oral and written communication. Join us to deepen your linguistic proficiency, broaden your cultural understanding, and discover a new appreciation for Latin American films.
Please note that this course is for enrichment only; no RPS language credit will be granted for this course for a year-long language class. While this course does not provide academic credit, students are expected to actively participate and complete assignments.
